Ryan Grace operating Degree & Me is the data controller for personal information processed to provide Degree & Me. Contact info@degreeandme.com about privacy or your information.

• Account information: your account email, user ID and sign-in information are used to create and secure your account, provide access and respond to account requests. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive the account information needed to sign you in.
• Test answers: interests, strengths, education and school preferences, budget preferences and location information you provide are used to calculate suggested college and career matches and restore test progress.
• Saved results and planning: matches, quiz scores, ROI inputs and scenarios, chosen paths, saved schools, application dates, statuses and notes are used to provide your results and planning tools.
• Purchase status: transaction and customer identifiers, purchase/refund status and paid-access records are used to match a Paddle purchase to your account and manage access.
• Support and technical information: messages you send us and technical information processed by our hosting and sign-in providers, such as IP addresses, device information and error/security logs, are used for support, reliability and fraud prevention.

Where a legal basis is required, we process account, test and saved-result information to perform our agreement with you; support and limited security information for our legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable service; required financial or legal records to comply with legal obligations; and any optional consent-based processing only with your consent.

Test progress and results are saved in your browser, including when you use the tests without an account. Paid accounts also synchronize saved results with our hosted account storage. Signing out does not erase results saved on that browser, so consider clearing site data on a shared device.

We use essential browser storage for results, sign-in sessions and checkout continuity. Our payment and sign-in providers may use essential cookies or similar technologies to operate their services. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies in the app. You can manage or clear cookies and local storage through your browser’s site-data settings; doing so may sign you out and remove results stored only in that browser.

We never sell student data. Information is shared only as needed with service providers for hosting, account authentication, storage and support; Google if you choose Google sign-in; professional advisers such as legal or accounting advisers when necessary; and authorities when required by law.

Payments are handled by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. We never see your card numbers. Paddle processes payment details and information needed for sales, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, refunds and purchase management under its own Privacy Policy. We share the account identifier needed to link your purchase to your account.

We keep account information and cloud-saved results while your account is active and they are needed to provide the service. Browser-saved results remain until you clear the site’s browser data. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, except records we must retain for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes. Support records are kept only as long as needed to resolve requests and meet those obligations.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and account-based access controls, to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

To request account deletion, email info@degreeandme.com from your account email with the subject “Account deletion.” We may verify account ownership before deleting your account and associated saved results. We will explain any records that must be retained. Deletion of cloud records does not erase results remaining on your device; clear Degree & Me’s site data in your browser to remove those local copies.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing of your information, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Email info@degreeandme.com to make a request. We respond within applicable legal deadlines, including one month for GDPR requests where GDPR applies. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority.

Our service providers may process information outside your country. Where required by applicable law, international transfers must use appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

Degree & Me is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, email info@degreeandme.com so we can investigate and remove it.
